The Hampton Park Neighbourhood Building Program is a community building process which focuses on the spiritual and holistic development of the people in Hampton Park, especially in youth. We believe everyone in Hampton Park has the capacity to contribute to the wellbeing of this neighbourhood! Including youth and children whom we see as protagonists of social change in the community. Young people more than ever need to be supported to continue to learn, grow and to have hope that a better world will emerge. In this program we learn to develop true friendships, sharpen our ability to express ourselves, and learn to better understand the world around us to make wise choices in life. We learn through studying material in study circles then applying what we've learnt through social action in community service projects that we plan and implement. The program is not religious and does not seek to teach any religion or belief system, rather, it seeks to provide individuals with the opportunity to explore several themes and concepts that would enable them to deal with the complexities of life, combat the forces of moral decay, gaining strength everywhere, and become active agents of social change.
